The Bolt Type Anchor Shackle, also known as a Safety Bow Shackle, combines multi-directional loading capabilities with a highly secure triple-locking mechanism, making it the safest choice for permanent installations, overhead lifting, and high-vibration environments.
Because the body is "O-shaped" (rounded), this shackle is much more versatile than a "Dee" (chain) shackle:

Type: Use Anchor (Bow) shackles for multi-leg systems or where side loading may occur. Use Chain (Dee) shackles for straight-line pulls.
Pin Type:
• Screw Pin: Suitable for general, non-permanent purposes.
• Bolt Type (Safety Pin): Essential for long-term installations or where the pin may rotate under load.
Avoid Side Loading: Position the shackle so the body takes the load along its center line. Use spacers if necessary to center the load on the pin.
Tightening: Tighten screw pins by hand, then lock with a small bar. Do not overtighten to the point of deforming the body. For bolt types, ensure the split cotter pin is fitted.
Choke Hitches: Place the pin through the eye of the sling. Never place the pin in contact with the "bight" of the choke or moving parts, as friction can unscrew the pin.
Storage: Store in a clean, dry place protected from corrosion. Never modify or galvanize a shackle without supplier approval.
Inspection: Check regularly for: distorted/stretched bodies, bent pins, damaged threads, nicks, gouges, or corrosion. illegible markings. If any defect is found, refer to a Competent Person.
